I write science fiction and fantasy stories. When I’m not writing, I work as a middle school teacher librarian. I’ve also been a classroom teacher, a proofreader for Fantasy Magazine and Locus, and a barista, among other incarnations. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I lived in Texas and Washington states, New York City, and rural France before coming back to California. My short fiction has appeared in
